PSA: The word 'vibe shift' is getting so overused it's losing all meaning

Last week, I saw three different articles about a 'vibe shift' in politics, fashion, and my local coffee shop's playlist. It's just a fancy way to say 'things are a little different now' and it's getting slapped on everything. Has anyone else noticed a term that's been run into the ground this fast?

Seriously, it's just a new coat of paint.

Totally agree about "vibe shift" being everywhere now. It's the new "pivot" or "disruption," just a buzzy word to make small changes sound huge. I heard a podcast say my apartment building had a "vibe shift" because they painted the lobby beige. At this point, a real shift in, well, vibes, would be people stopping use the term for every little thing.

Ugh, right? My rule is if it doesn't change how you actually act, it's not a vibe shift. Beige paint is just... paint.
