My coworker kept saying 'assume positive intent' at every meeting last month

I work on a crew of 12 guys in Denver and this one project manager started dropping 'assume positive intent' like 50 times a day. Last week I showed up late because my truck broke down on I-25 and he said it again. I finally asked him what it even meant and he couldn't really explain it, just said it was from some leadership book. Has anyone else had a buzzword take over their whole workplace?

Tells you more about the person saying it than the actual situation, like most buzzwords do.

Heard a buddy complain about "toxic positivity" at work the other day. Turns out his boss just asked him to smile more at customers.
