I finally stopped saying "synergy" after my boss used it 12 times in one meeting
Lost about 3 hours of my life last Tuesday in a Zoom where every other sentence had synergy, and honestly, I'm not sure I can hear that word without cringing now, has anyone else just started calling it "teamwork" to their face?

Twelve times in one hour long meeting? That's not a word anymore, that's a drinking game waiting to happen. I've definitely started saying "let's work together" instead just to see if anyone notices, and honestly nobody does. Corporate buzzwords are basically just noise at this point, might as well speak normal English.

The other day I heard a cashier at the grocery store tell a customer we're "synergizing our checkout flow" when she just meant they were opening a new lane. It's wild how this stuff leaks out of meetings and into normal life, like some kind of verbal virus. @emery19 you're right that nobody notices, but I think that's because we've all just accepted that half the words people say in the office are basically white noise at this point.
