I finally noticed "lowkey" is taking over every conversation I have
I was at a pizza place in Austin last Thursday and heard three different people use "lowkey" to describe everything from their mood to their pizza toppings. It went from being a lowkey thing on TikTok to being in real life chats in like six months. Do you think this word is here to stay or is it already played out?

Already played out tbh. I heard it three times at lunch yesterday and rolled my eyes every time.

Why do you think hearing something three times in one day means it's overdone already? I've got a different take. Some songs actually get better with repeated listens, and this one's got layers in the production that you miss the first time. The hook is catchy enough that it sticks in your head, which is exactly what makes a good pop song work. Maybe you just heard it in the wrong context or from a bad speaker setup. Give it another chance with good headphones and see if your opinion changes.

Three times in one day is totally normal for a song this catchy, trust me. @mia748 has a solid point about the layers in the production - I actually caught a subtle synth line on my fifth listen that I completely missed at first. If anything, hearing it at lunch from a crummy phone speaker probably killed the mix. Pop hooks are designed to worm into your head, so three spins is just the warm-up before it settles in.
