Heard 'faux-ductivity' 3 times in one meeting, now I can't stop using it

Was on a Zoom call last Tuesday and my coworker described half the team's busywork as 'faux-ductivity,' and it just hit different than 'performative work.' I dropped it at a bar in Portland that night and two strangers nodded like I coined it, so has anyone else had a slang term click into place that fast?

You ever get a word that just fits every corner of your life once you hear it? That happened to me with 'task mask' a few years back, and now I can't unsee it in every meeting. The trick is to not overuse it too fast, or people start side-eyeing you like you're trying too hard. I'd say keep it in your back pocket for exactly those moments when someone describes three hours of rearranging spreadsheets as real work. That word pays off way better when you drop it rarely and let it land. Just be careful, once you start noticing faux-ductivity everywhere, you'll never stop, and that's both a blessing and a curse.
