Finally learned what 'ghosting' means - my coworker literally vanished mid-project

Last month my teammate Jenna stopped answering Slack messages 3 days before a big deadline. I kept asking around and someone finally said 'oh she ghosted you.' I had to google it honestly. Turns out it's just a fancy word for someone disappearing without a word. Now I hear it everywhere - has anyone else noticed this term popping up in work chats a lot?

The literal vanishing act thing really threw me off when I first saw it too, felt like some spy movie stuff.

You know, I had almost the exact same reaction. I was watching a demo of it and the device just seemed to disappear into thin air. I actually rewound the video three times because I thought I blinked and missed something. It's one thing to read about it, but seeing that visual trick really makes you question what's going on.
