Finally ditched 'synergy' after a coworker called it out in a meeting

I used to drop 'synergy' in every project update because it sounded smart. Then last Tuesday, my manager literally said 'can you just say we're working together instead?' and I realized how dumb it sounded. Has anyone else had a boss kill their favorite buzzword like that?

Last Tuesday this guy literally called you out mid-meeting, that's brutal.

Was the guy a coworker or your boss? Because that really changes how you handle the fallout after something like that... I gotta know if he had any real authority over you or if he was just being an obnoxious peer.

Did the guy just go after you out of nowhere, or was there some history between you two before that meeting? Honestly that's the kind of move that makes everyone in the room feel awkward, even if they're not the one getting called out. Ngl, I've had that happen on a job site before, and it takes some real backbone to just sit there and take it without losing your cool.
