Always thought 'ghost kitchen' was just a lame marketing buzzword until my buddy's joint got one

I used to roll my eyes every time I heard about ghost kitchens, figured it was just a fancy term for takeout. But my friend's food truck in Austin doubled its revenue in 3 months after they started renting space in one last fall. Has anyone else seen these things actually help small operations or is it mostly hype?

And the competition thing is real too, saw three taco brands sharing one kitchen...

Read an article about how ghost kitchens are basically saving small restaurant owners from getting killed by rent prices, especially in cities where commercial space costs a fortune. Seems like it actually works for the right setup.

Honestly, ghost kitchens don't really save you from rent costs in most cases. They still charge you per square foot, and you're often competing with a dozen other virtual brands in the same shared space.
