Almost fell for a fake slang term my nephew used, here is the 30 second check that saved me
My nephew said something was "gyatted" at dinner on Sunday and I almost repeated it at work before I looked it up. I started checking new words at Know Your Meme first, then searching the term with the word "origin" to see if it came from a real community or just one viral video. Does anyone else do a quick source check before using a new word, or am I being too careful?
