Unpopular opinion: I think those 'mastermind' groups are mostly a waste of money.
I paid $2,500 for a six-month program and got less useful advice than from my own accountant. Has anyone actually found one that was worth the cost?

Honestly, it's all about who's running it. I dropped out of one because the "expert" just recycled basic blog posts. But a good one with a real leader who calls you out? That's different. You need someone who actually built something, not just talks about it.

Remember that group that fell apart because the guy kept trying to sell us his course?

What makes you think it's the group and not the person in it? I joined one last year that was a game changer, but only because I showed up with real problems to solve. We did weekly hot seats where people would tear apart my pricing model or client process. If you go in just to listen, yeah you'll get nothing. But if you use it right, the pushback from other owners is worth way more than generic advice.
