TIL that paying $400 for a "business coach" on Instagram was the dumbest money I ever spent
I want to warn everyone about this because I lost $400 in March and I am still mad about it. I followed this guy on Instagram who posts about freelancing and he kept saying he could help me get more clients in 30 days, so I paid for his group program. All I got was three Zoom calls where he repeated stuff I could find free on YouTube, plus a PDF of "mindset tips" that looked like it was written in 20 minutes. When I asked for a refund he said I did not "do the work" and blocked me. What changed my mind about coaching programs in general was talking to a guy at a coffee shop in Denver last week who said he made the same mistake for $1,200 and never got anything from it either. Now I just ask other freelancers for advice for free and honestly it works better. Has anyone here actually paid for a coach and gotten real value, or is the whole thing a scam?
