The debate between dollar cost averaging vs lump sum investing keeps coming up on this sub

I've seen people swear DCA is safer for peace of mind, but every backtest I've run shows lump sum beats it like 70% of the time over 10 years. Am I missing something or is it mostly an emotional thing for people?

Read an article saying lump sum wins most of the time but DCA helps people sleep at night.

Man yeah same here. I kept hearing DCA was safer so I tried it for a year and my buddy just threw his bonus in one shot and did way better. At this point I just dump it all in when I have it and ignore the noise.
