Switched to a flat fee bookkeeper and saved $400 a month

I was paying my old bookkeeper $150 an hour and my monthly bill kept hitting $800, so I tried a flat fee service my buddy in Dallas recommended and now I pay $400 flat no matter what. Has anyone else moved away from hourly billing for things like this and seen real savings?

Man that's a solid move. I did the same thing with my bookkeeper last year - flat fee saved me about $300 a month and I don't have to watch the clock anymore when I call them with questions.

Whoa, I gotta disagree there. Flat fee sounds nice on paper but I've seen it backfire plenty. You end up paying for stuff you don't need and the service gets lazy once they have your money locked in. With hourly at least you know exactly what you're getting for your dollar. I'd rather pay for the actual work done than guess if I'm getting fair value.

Nah flat fee usually means you pay for them to get lazy, not efficient.
