Switched from spreadsheets to QuickBooks for my side hustle bookkeeping
I used to track everything in Google Sheets for my freelance graphic design work, but after I hit 50 clients last year it became a nightmare to manage invoices. Finally moved to QuickBooks in January and it cut my monthly reconciliation time from 4 hours to about 45 minutes. Anyone else stick with a manual system way longer than they should have before giving in to paid software?

Stuck with a color-coded paper ledger system for my landscaping side gig until I accidentally erased two months of data with a coffee spill. That was the wake up call. QuickBooks saved my sanity but honestly I still miss the satisfying feeling of drawing perfect little boxes around numbers with a ruler.

Took your lead and finally ditched my color coded sticky note system after I lost a whole week of income tracking when they fell behind my desk. Now I'm kicking myself for not switching sooner, that 45 minute reconciliation sounds like a dream compared to my old Sunday night panic sessions.

NO WAY you had color coded sticky notes for income tracking! That sounds like something I'd come up with after watching too many organization ASMR videos. I feel for you though, losing a whole week of data behind the desk is brutal. But honestly, 45 minute reconciliation sounds like a fantasy compared to what I used to deal with, I'd have to block out my entire Sunday evening just to untangle everything. You made the right call, even if it took losing those sticky notes to finally make the switch.
