Showerthought: I used to track every business expense in a shoebox like a caveman
Honestly, back in 2019 I would just throw every receipt into a shoebox and deal with it at tax time. It was a nightmare, I lost like $200 in deductions one year because a receipt got coffee spilled on it. Then last March I switched to using a free app that snaps photos of receipts and sorts them by category. Now I spend maybe 10 minutes a week on it instead of a whole weekend panicking. Tbh, I don't know why I waited so long, the shoebox method was just dumb. Has anyone else had a messy system they finally ditched?

Did you alphabetize the shoebox or was it truly lawless in there? Asking for a friend who definitely never found a taco receipt from 2017 mixed in with their tax stuff.
