Exactly. It's funny how we'll balk at the up-front cost but ignore the slow bleed of small, lazy purchases. I do the same thing with coffee.

You know, that "slow bleed" idea is spot on, vera681. But I'd argue coffee is a bad example because it's actually a ritual for a lot of people, not just a lazy purchase. The real slow bleed is stuff you don't even enjoy, like that extra streaming service you never watch or the phone app subscriptions you forgot about.
