My local bank branch cut its hours from 9-5 to 11-3 and it's a real problem now.
I've used the same bank in Springfield for eight years. Up until six months ago, they were open normal business hours. Now the lobby is only open four hours a day, and the drive-thru closes at 4 PM. The change happened after they did a big remodel, adding more ATMs and pushing their app. I went to deposit a check from a small business job last Friday at 4:30 and the whole place was locked. The app has a low daily limit, so I had to wait until Monday. It feels like they're forcing everyone online, but what about people who deal with cash or need a banker's check? Has anyone found a good workaround for this, or switched to a credit union that still keeps real hours?

What's next, a bank that's only open on leap years? Guess we're supposed to just mail them our cash.

Read somewhere that one of these banks is planning to put all their tellers on part-time hours to avoid paying benefits. Seems like they're just making it harder for regular people to do basic banking. Pretty soon you'll need an appointment just to deposit a check.
