Lost a $12k client this week over a typo in an email proposal

I messed up. Sent a proposal to a repeat client in Austin and wrote 'their' instead of 'there' in the contract summary. They called me out on it and said it showed lack of attention to detail. I offered to redo the whole thing but they already moved on to another vendor. Been freelancing for 3 years and this is the first time a tiny mistake cost me that much. Anyone else had a small error snowball into something huge?

$12k over a typo is insane, isn't it crazy how one little thing can wreck everything these days?

Harsh but fair I guess. Made me triple check everything I send out now though. My bank account is still crying about it.
