Hit $10,000 in monthly revenue for the first time in 3 years of running my tree service
I know 10k is small to some of you, but for me it felt huge. When I started back in 2022 I was pulling maybe $2,200 a month and doing most of the climbing myself. This month we crossed $10,400 and it happened because I finally quit taking every cheap job that called. I raised my minimum to $450 for small removals and started saying no to the $150 trim jobs that ate up half a day. My best week was the one where I booked 6 full removals in a row instead of 14 little jobs. Curious how you all decide when to raise prices, do you go by job count or by what your calendar looks like?
The $450 minimum is the whole thing. Once you set a floor, your calendar starts telling you the truth. When I was doing small jobs, I'd look at a Tuesday with four $150 stops and feel busy. But busy and booked are not the same thing. Four stops means four drive times, four setups, four customers to talk to. One $600 job is one setup, one drive, one check. Your six removals in a row probably made more than those 14 little jobs and took less than half the day. Track your revenue per day on the calendar, not per job. Then you'll see which days are actually worth it.
