Update: The great pen versus pencil debate for my weekly spread
I had to choose between using my favorite black gel pen or a mechanical pencil for my whole weekly layout. I went with the pen for a clean look, but then I messed up the dates for Wednesday. My partner looked at it and said, 'So, is Thursday the new hump day now?' Anyone have a good fix for pen mistakes that doesn't involve whiteout?

Oh man, "Thursday the new hump day" is a classic. Been there. What I do is take a really fine tip pen, like a .38 or something, and just turn the wrong number into a little doodle or a tiny decorative box around the right date. You can make the mistake part of the design. A small flower or a star works. It hides the mess and adds character. Way better than whiteout globs.

Honestly though, it's a calendar. The date is wrong. Just cross it out and move on. People are acting like a simple slip of the pen needs a whole art project to fix. It's not that deep. My calendar is full of scribbles and it works fine.

Love that idea from @alicecooper about turning a mistake into a little drawing. I've started doing that with my whole calendar, making small decorative borders for important days. It actually makes me look forward to writing things down now. A messed up date is just a chance to get creative, and my planner looks way more interesting. The whiteout bottle is basically gathering dust in my desk drawer.
