Tried the whole minimalist spread thing, my brain said nope

So everyone in here raves about those clean, one pen spreads with just boxes and lines. I gave it a solid 3 weeks, used my nicest black Sakura pen, kept every page super simple. But I kept forgetting to check it because it looked like a boring to do list my boss would make. Switched back to my chaotic rainbow doodle style with washi tape and stickers all over, and suddenly I'm actually using it every day. Anyone else find that the prettier and simpler their journal gets, the less they touch it?
