Started with a $3 composition notebook, now I use a $25 Leuchtturm

Back in 2018 I was using a spiral notebook and a ballpoint pen for my bullet journal. The paper was so thin my markers bled through everything. Switched to a dotted Leuchtturm1917 last year and it holds up way better with my mildliners. Anyone else stick with the same setup for years or do you swap notebooks every season?

I used to think spending $20+ on a notebook was a waste. My first few attempts at bullet journaling were in those 99 cent composition books from Walmart. The ink bled so bad you could see three pages deep. I finally caved and got a Leuchtturm after seeing someone's spread on Instagram. The paper quality alone changed everything. No bleed through, the pages lay flat, and the little index page actually made sense after I used it for a month. Still use the same one six months later.

See, I get that the paper quality is better but is a notebook really going to change your whole life, @hannahk19? Feels like we've all been gaslit by Instagram stationery influencers into thinking a $20 notebook is some kind of magic solution.

Hannahk19 try a Rhodia pad sometime, the paper is even smoother than Leuchtturm.
