My old boss said use one journal forever, that was wrong

Started bullet journaling 4 months back. My old boss, she swore by keeping one notebook for years. Said it builds a story. I tried it and it got so messy flipping through old work pages. I switched to a new journal every 6 months and it helps a ton. Started a house cleaning biz and my bujo is half schedule, half notes now. Mixing everything meant I missed appointments twice. Anyone else split their journals by purpose?
