My fancy washi tape ruined 3 months of spreads, don't be like me
I grabbed this really pretty metallic washi tape from a craft fair in Denver back in March because it looked perfect for headers and borders. Started using it on my weekly spreads and it looked awesome for about 2 weeks. Then I turned the page and noticed the adhesive was bleeding through the paper, leaving this ugly greasy stain on the back of every page. By the time I caught it, I had to rip out and redo my entire May section, about 20 pages. The tape was from some random vendor, no brand name, just said 'handmade' on the label. I guess cheaper washi tapes use lower quality adhesive that soaks into thinner journal paper. Now I only buy washi from art supply stores and always test it on a scrap page first for a full week. Has anyone else had a washi tape disaster, or is there a brand that's actually safe for thin paper?

Wait, wasn't that tape just acid-free but not oil-proof? Adhesive bleed sounds weird for that.
