Had a student in my art class tell me my weekly spreads were too rigid

I was helping this college kid in Portland with her first bullet journal setup last Tuesday. She looked at my neat little boxes and said "this feels like homework, not a diary." It hit me because I've been treating my bujo like a chore list instead of an actual tool. Now I'm trying to leave one day a week completely blank just to see what happens. Anyone else ever have a random stranger totally shift how you use your journal?

That student was right though, same thing happened to me when a coworker saw my color coded schedule and laughed saying it looked like a prison timetable. Took me months to realize she was onto something and now I leave random empty spots too.
