Fancy $40 stencil set I bought for my bullet journal was a total flop

I dropped $40 on a set of reusable stencils for my bullet journal last month. They looked great online with all those neat shapes and borders. But the plastic was way too thick, so they slid around on the page constantly. The lines bled under the edges no matter how slow I went with my pen. I ended up tossing them after three tries and went back to drawing grids by hand. Has anyone else had bad luck with fancy stencils for their journal?

Used to be all about fancy stencils till I wasted money on a set that did the exact same thing. Cheap plastic is a nightmare. Now I just stick to a ruler and a steady hand.

Totally agree on the ruler thing, but cheap plastic stencils are the worst. I've had sets where the edges are actually sharp enough to cut your paper. Not great.
