Bought a $45 dotted journal from a fancy brand and now I miss my old $8 one
Last month I splurged on this leather-bound bullet journal with 140gsm paper and a pen loop (huge selling point for me). The paper is nice but the pre-printed index pages actually get in my way since I spread my collections out weird. My old cheap notebook had no structure and I could just roll with whatever setup I wanted. Has anyone else tried a fancier journal and gone back to something simpler for their bujo?

Spent $60 on a fancy journal once and used three pages before switching back to a composition notebook.

Can't believe you dropped 60 bucks on a journal and barely touched it! That's like buying a fancy steak dinner and eating two bites. My composition notebooks are like three dollars at the grocery store and I fill every single page. The cheap cardboard covers get all bent up and I love it. I'd be so mad at myself if I did that.

Saw a study once about how too many features actually make people less creative with their tools. Sounds like that fancy journal is doing the same thing, getting in the way of your natural flow. Sometimes blank pages are better than all that structure.
