Almost lost my entire year of tracking after my coffee spilled on my journal at a cafe in Denver
I was at a crowded spot downtown and my drink tipped over onto my open bujo, soaking through about six months of spreads. Has anyone else had a close call like this, or do you take steps to protect your journal when you're out?

Six months of tracking? That's brutal. I think I would have cried right there in the cafe if that happened to me. How long did it take you to get all that info back, or did you just let it go? I keep my journal in a plastic sleeve now after a close call with a rainstorm, but a coffee spill sounds way worse. Those pages must look like a tie-dye project now.

oh man totally agree with you there, the stains are like battle scars from real life. i had a similar thing happen at a dive bar in Austin last summer, someone knocked into my table and my beer went straight into my open journal. it soaked like four months of spreads but honestly now when i flip through those pages it smells faintly of cheap lager and it just makes me laugh every time. i actually stopped worrying so much about keeping my bujo pristine after that, it feels more like a real record of my life now you know. plus the splotches make it kind of artistic in a messy way, like abstract art.
