The 2 year difference between eating out every meal vs. meal prepping Sundays

I used to blow $450 a month on takeout and delivery fees like it was nothing, then I started spending 3 hours every Sunday chopping veggies and cooking in bulk. Two years later my fridge is a graveyard of identical Tupperware containers but my bank account is up $8,000. Anyone else get weirdly competitive with their past self about this?

My own savings was closer to $6,000 but I feel this deeply.

@jenniferw82 actually 6000 is a solid start even if it doesn't feel like enough.
