That $89 meal prep container set paid for itself in 3 weeks

Ngl, I kept buying $12 lunches at the deli near my office in Portland. Finally grabbed a 12 pack of glass containers with snap lids on sale and now I cook 5 portions of chicken and rice every Sunday. The containers cost me $89 but I've stopped spending roughly $60 a week on takeout. Has anyone else found one big upfront purchase that killed a daily money leak for them?

Buy the biggest bag of rice and chicken thighs when they're on sale, that's the real hack. I meal prep on Sundays too and I found that spending an extra 20 minutes chopping veggies while the chicken cooks saves me from hitting the taco truck on Wednesday. The key is having a couple of sauces that aren't boring, so you don't get sick of the same bowl. Once you get the routine down, those glass containers basically pay for themselves in a month, easy.
