Stopped buying avocados for 3 weeks and saved $42 for a simple reason
I noticed I was tossing out half avocados every week because they went bad too fast. So I started buying frozen avocado chunks from the grocery store instead, a $4 bag lasts me two weeks. They thaw out fine for toast or smoothies and I dont waste any. Now I put that $42 toward my emergency fund every month. Anybody else swap fresh produce for frozen to cut down on food waste?

and honestly $42 a month is a solid chunk of change, I started buying frozen broccoli and spinach for the same reason. I used to waste so much fresh stuff because I'd forget about it in the crisper drawer. now I just grab what I need from the freezer and nothing gets thrown out.

yeah the crisper drawer is basically a place where veggies go to die lmao. frozen is the move for sure, I do the same with bell peppers and they work just as good in any recipe.

Man, the crisper drawer is basically where good intentions go to rot. @brian_rivera59 nailed it. I've had bags of spinach turn into soup back there more times than I care to count. Do you find that frozen peppers hold up alright in stir fries or do they get a bit mushy? I've been on the fence about switching over but the waste is getting old.
