Pro tip: I found out my coffee habit was costing me $1,460 a year and I almost fell off my chair
Honestly I was just messing around on a budgeting app during my lunch break at work in Dayton last Tuesday and it did that thing where it sorts your spending into categories. It flagged my coffee runs as my third biggest expense, right behind rent and groceries, which made zero sense to me until I saw the math. Five bucks a day, five days a week, that is $100 a month, and I did that for years without ever once adding it up in my head. Ngl I sat there staring at the screen like a dummy because I always thought of it as just a small thing I do. Tbh the app was free so at least the bad news did not cost me anything. Has anyone else had a budgeting app point out something you spent on for years without noticing, and did you actually cut it or just quietly ignore the number?
