Composting lowered my trash bill way below what I thought

I set up a simple compost pile in my backyard. It turns food scraps into soil, so I buy fewer trash bags and less fertilizer. What green swaps have saved you the most cash?

Cloth napkins were a game changer for me. Stopped buying paper towels completely after the first cheap pack from a thrift store.

One meal and my napkins are already tie-dyed.

Totally agree with @morgan.logan. Found a stack of cheap cotton ones and just toss them in with the regular laundry. The best part is they don't even look dirty after one meal, so you can use them a few times before washing.
