Can we talk about how a simple envelope system saved my vacation fund?
Last month, I started putting $75 cash in a labeled envelope every Friday. I kept it in my kitchen drawer instead of my wallet so I wouldn't spend it. By the end of the month, I had $300 saved for a weekend trip to the coast, which felt way more real than seeing a number in an app. Has anyone else had a win with the physical cash method?

Wait, does hiding it in a book guarantee you'll forget about it? Because I tried that once with a birthday card envelope and found it three months later... only to realize I'd buried it inside a cookbook I never actually use, so the "surprise" was really just me discovering my own laziness. I guess the universe decided I needed that $50 more than a new spatula anyway.

Totally get that feeling of cash making it more real. My partner and I do this for date nights, but we hide the envelope in a book on the shelf. It's like a little surprise for ourselves later. The physical act of putting money in there feels like a real promise, not just moving numbers around. We're less likely to cheat because we'd have to go find the book and admit we're taking it.

Love that idea, @grace_bailey. It shows how we're all adding little bits of friction back into our lives to make things matter. I see it with friends who switched back to paper planners because writing things down makes them stick, or people using a real camera instead of their phone to be more focused. The extra step makes the action feel chosen, not just automatic.
