Blew $60 on a fancy budgeting app that did nothing I needed

I spent 60 bucks on a trending budgeting app last month thinking it would finally help me track my spending. Turns out all it did was sync to my accounts and show me colorful pie charts, but it couldn't split a transaction between categories. I wasted an afternoon setting it up before I realized I could do the same thing with a free spreadsheet. Anyone else fall for those flashy app promises without checking the features first?
