Appreciation post: my 3 envelope cash system in Columbus beat every budgeting app

I used to track every cent in Mint and later YNAB, but I kept overspending on food and random stuff. Switched to a 3 envelope system with $400 for groceries, $150 for gas, and $200 for fun each month, and I actually stuck to it for 6 months now. The physical cash makes me think twice before dropping $9 at a coffee stand, which apps never did. Anyone else ditch digital tracking for old school cash envelopes and see their spending finally drop?
