My bank statement from last April showed I spent over a hundred dollars just at the drive-thru coffee place by my office. Seeing the total really did make me stop and brew my own most days. It's one of those things you don't notice until you actually add it all up. That's a solid chunk of change just disappearing into a cup.

Watched a friend do this with his lunch habits last year. He was grabbing a sandwich and chips from the deli every single workday, never thought much of it. Added it up at the end of the month and it was something like two hundred bucks. He looked genuinely sick for a minute. Started making extra dinner to bring leftovers the very next week.
