Vent: That 'cheap' hostel in Bangkok cost me $200 extra

I booked a place for $8 a night on Agoda without reading the fine print about their 'mandatory linen rental'. After a week I paid more in fees than a decent hotel would have cost. Has anyone else gotten burned by hidden charges on booking sites?

Got burned same way in Vietnam paid triple for "mandatory" towels and sheets.

Hate when they hit you with that surprise fee right after you land. Ngl it makes you feel like a fool for not asking every tiny question upfront. Tbh it's a lesson you only learn once the hard way.
