Tried a 4am Megabus from Chicago to Detroit, got there 5 hours late and saved money anyway
I grabbed a $12 Megabus ticket from Chicago to Detroit for a wedding and figured the 4am departure would be rough but cheap. Bus broke down outside Kalamazoo and we sat for almost 3 hours, so my 6 hour trip turned into 11 hours and I missed the ceremony. But here's the weird part, nobody else on that bus seemed mad at all. A guy next to me said he does this run every month and just builds in a full day of buffer, which honestly never crossed my mind. Do you all pad your travel time like that, or do you just eat the risk and hope the cheap ticket works out?
