That $8 Lisbon hostel bed ruined my whole week, take the extra train
I booked a super cheap spot in Alfama near the cathedral, figured 8 euros was a steal. Turns out the bunk above me squeaked every time someone breathed, and the shared bathroom line at 7am had like 12 people in it. Missed my 9:40 train to Sintra because I was waiting to brush my teeth, ended up paying 14 for a later one anyway. Anyone else learn the hard way that saving 5 bucks on a bed costs you more in time and sanity?
