Showerthought: my $2 airport sandwich hack died when I tried it in Denver last month
Back in the day I used to bring an empty water bottle and a bag of plain bread rolls through security, then hit the airport deli counter for a side of turkey and some mustard packets. It worked great at smaller spots and saved me maybe $15 a trip. Last month at Denver I asked for a side of meat and the lady pointed at the menu and said it was $9 on its own if it was not part of a sandwich. Now I just pack a peanut butter pouch and a plastic knife in my carry on, which has not failed me yet. What cheap food moves are you all using at airports these days?
