Shoutout to the lady running a hostel in Medellin like it's boot camp
I booked a dorm bunk for 12 bucks a night in El Poblado and thought I found a steal. The owner, this tiny Colombian grandma, woke everyone up at 5 AM with a vacuum and yelled in Spanish if we left shoes in the hallway. She also handed out free arepas for breakfast but only if you folded your blanket first. Has anyone else run into hostel owners with random strict rules that somehow saved you money?

Actually it's 5 AM not 5am... common rookie mistake.

Actually the Associated Press style guide has been saying lowercase AM and PM for a few years now, and most major newspapers and websites follow that rule now. I get what you're saying about the old school way of doing it with capital letters and periods, but language changes over time and so do style guides. Even the Chicago Manual of Style updated their recommendation in the 17th edition to allow for lowercase without periods, so it's not really a mistake anymore. Honestly it drives me nuts when people act like their personal preference is the only correct way, especially when the actual experts have moved on. So yeah, both ways are acceptable now depending on which style guide you choose to follow.

My friend Jen got roasted on a group chat for writing "7pm" instead of "7 PM" once, and the person who called her out ended up having their autocorrect set to lowercase AM/PM the whole time. So maybe cut @charles_kelly43 a little slack, style guides aside.
