My neighbor the retired nurse taught me a packing trick for meds that saved $60 on my last trip

I was telling her about how I spent $80 just to bring a small first aid kit and some allergy pills to Costa Rica last month. She said just bring a pill organizer and refill it from bulk bottles at home. Label each compartment with a piece of tape and a Sharpie. I did that for my weekend trip to Asheville and it cost me maybe $4 total. No more buying tiny travel packs at the pharmacy. Has anyone else got cheap medical kit tips that actually work?

Hold on, wait. Melting? I had no idea that was even a thing with pills. I've definitely left a bottle in my car during summer before but thankfully nothing turned into a gooey mess. Guess I got lucky, your mileage may vary on that one.
