Had to pick between a hostel dorm and a private room in Seoul

I chose the dorm for $15 a night instead of $50 for my own room. Ended up meeting a local who showed me three free markets I would have never found on my own.

Hah, I'd probably just get lost and end up eating convenience store ramen for a week straight.

Picked the dorm in Tokyo last year and it was the best call. Met a guy from Osaka who took me to this hole-in-the-wall ramen spot that wasn't even listed online. Saved money and got way more out of the trip than I would have alone.
