Why does nobody talk about how unmarked freezer bags drain your food budget?
I used to just shove things in the freezer without thinking... then I'd find mystery bags months later and toss them out. It hit me how much money I was wasting on food that went bad because I didn't know what it was. Now, I always use a marker to write what it is and the date on the bag. It sounds small, but it made a big difference... I actually use up my frozen veggies and meat before they get freezer burn. Last week, I found some chicken from three months ago and made a soup instead of buying new. It meant I didn't have to spend ten bucks on extra groceries. Seriously, take five seconds to label... it adds up fast.

Last Tuesday, I spent twenty minutes digging through my freezer looking for ground beef. Honestly, that time adds up and makes me less likely to cook at all. Tbh, when I can't find what I need, I just order pizza instead of using what I have. Ngl, the mental tax of not knowing what's in there is almost as bad as the money lost. It turns meal planning into a guessing game, and I end up buying duplicates. Labeling bags isn't just about saving cash, it's about saving your sanity too.

The search is half the battle.

Ugh, your freezer sounds like a bad game show where the prize is freezer burn. I've totally given up and ordered takeout after losing a fight with a frozen lump of mystery meat. The worst part is you know the thing you need is definitely in there somewhere, laughing at you.
