The day I stopped buying bagged salad and started eating better for less
I used to grab those $5 bags of pre-washed lettuce twice a week, plus a bottle of dressing for $4. Then I got a head of romaine for 99 cents and a $2 jar of Caesar that lasted a month. I chop it Sunday night into a Tupperware with a paper towel on top, stays crisp through Friday. Also started buying a whole rotisserie chicken for $7 instead of lunch meat at $6 for half the amount. That one switch saved me around $30 a month and the salads taste way fresher. Anyone else ditched the pre-bagged stuff and seen a real dent in their grocery bill?

Wait, you seriously got a head of romaine for 99 cents? That's insane, mine's like $1.50 minimum even on sale. The paper towel trick is the real game changer though, I've thrown out so many soggy lettuce containers that went bad in three days. And yeah, rotisserie chicken beats lunch meat every time, I can stretch that thing into like five meals easy.
