The 50 cent bag of dried beans I kept ignoring finally won me over

I used to be that guy who bought canned beans every single week because I thought dried beans were too much work. Last month I grabbed a 2 pound bag of pintos for a dollar at the local grocery just to prove myself wrong. After soaking them overnight and cooking them on a Sunday afternoon, I ended up with enough beans for 4 meals at like 8 cents a serving. The texture was way better than the canned stuff too, not mushy at all. I've made two more batches since then and I think I'm hooked. Anyone else have a pantry staple they avoided for way too long?

Did you pressure cook them or just simmer? That's the real game changer imo.
