Spent $8 on a giant bag of lentils and now my kitchen looks like a crime scene.
I tried to cook them all at once in my biggest pot, which was a huge mistake because they expanded way more than I thought and now there's lentil soup dripping from my cabinets. What's your best way to use up a massive amount of one cheap ingredient?

My freezer is full of lentil patties after a bulk buy. I just mash them with breadcrumbs and freeze them in batches. They work as burgers or crumbled into pasta sauce later.

Used to think lentil patties would get weird in the freezer, but your method @willow114 sounds solid. I mean, having them ready to crumble into pasta is a game changer for quick dinners. Might have to clear some space and try a batch myself.
