Shoutout to the $1.50 rotisserie chicken at the grocery store off Route 9
Stopped in last Tuesday around 7pm and watched a guy in a work vest grab four of them, so I asked what he does with them all and he said he pulls the meat for a week of sandwiches, soup, and tacos for under ten bucks total, and now I'm wondering what everyone else does with theirs.
That line about pulling the meat for a week of sandwiches is spot on. I do the same thing when I grab one of those cheap birds, usually on a Sunday, and by the time I'm done picking it clean I've got a big tub of meat in the fridge. Then it's chicken salad for lunches, a pot of soup with the bones thrown in, and quesadillas or tacos later in the week when I'm too tired to cook real food. Best part is the carcass makes a decent broth for basically free, so nothing goes to waste. Ten bucks for all that is hard to beat.
