Overheard a guy at the grocery store say he'd never buy a whole chicken

Honestly, he said it was too much work, but breaking one down myself saves me like $8 a week. Anyone got other cheap cuts that are worth the extra prep time?

Is saving eight bucks a week really that big of a deal? I get the whole chicken thing, but sometimes the extra time and mess just aren't worth it to me. Feels like we're all trying to optimize every penny lately. Maybe just buy the parts you actually like and call it a day.

Yeah, the "optimize every penny" feeling is real lol. But for me, breaking down a chicken is less about the cash and more about getting better at something. Feels good to not be helpless in the kitchen.

Optimize every penny" is my middle name. I spent 20 minutes last night trying to get every bit of toothpaste out of the tube. The chicken would be a disaster.
